My father’s old slide rule is one of my most prized artifacts and possessions. It hangs on the wall in my bedroom next to my crucifix and one of my swords.
Slide rule for tread-wheel labour, printed paper on rectangular wood board. The left hand section includes logarithmic scales, measuring between 20-80 steps for ‘Steps per Minute’ on the lower two fifths, and ‘Feet of Ascent’, from 2,000 to 30,000 feet on the remaining three fifths above, both labelled in italics.
